The Ottawa Central Police and Fire
Station was completed in 1981 and houses the Ottawa Police
and Fire Departments. The facility also is home to an Enhanced
911 Dispatch Center, a shooting range and a four cell adult
temporary holding facility.

| It is the primary mission of the Ottawa
Fire Department to provide a variety of services designed
to protect the lives and property of our customer base, the
citizens of Ottawa and surrounding area from the adverse effects
of fire, sudden medical emergencies or the exposure to dangerous
conditions caused by man and nature in an efficient, professional
and well trained manner. |

The Ottawa
Police Department currently consists of 33 sworn Police
officers and 10 non-sworn telecommunicators, records and parking
enforcement personnel. Of the sworn personnel, excluding administrative
personnel, 24 are currently assigned to the Patrol Division,
4 to the Detective Division, and 2 to the public schools as
School Resource/DARE Officers. |
