offer a variety of amenities, including boat launches, docking
facilities, swimming pool, tennis courts, bikeway/hiking trails,
baseball and softball diamonds, basketball courts, play apparatus,
picnic facilities, monuments/art, fishing areas, shelters, concession
facilities, toboggan run, and riverwalk. |

6 foot steel bench with a 2” x 10” memorial plaque with

Fox River Park

![singleclickstop=[on] header=[Did You Know...?] body=[Fox River Park - Extreme flooding in July, 1996 and February, 1997 afforded an area once filled with structures in varying degrees of disrepair to become home to a public boat launch, a public walkway along the Fox River, open picnic/play areas, a 9-hole Disc golf course and a garden planted with vegetables for the "Plant A Row for the Hungry" program.<br><br>Through assistance from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Emergency Management Agency following the floods, the City was able to acquire parcels from 36 different property owners and demolish over 65 structures that included homes, garages, outbuildings, duplexes and several commercial buildings. As the floodplain area was cleared of most of the structures, development of the former "flats" was transformed into what is now known as Fox River Park.]](images/know.jpg)

Walsh Park

Mr. Walsh resided on this site for many years, which once was home to a natural spring and a fishing pond.
