Ottawa residents will want to start gathering their leaves to the curb by November.
The city-wide leaf vacuuming program begins on Monday, November 4, 2019 and will operate Monday through Friday weather permitting, according to Commissioner Marla Rodriguez.
The leaf vacuum crews will make two complete trips through the city. An exact schedule of when specific streets will be vacuumed is unavailable as it’s difficult to create an exact schedule for the process.
Piles of leaves should be placed on the berm and not on the streets. The crews will not pick up sticks or branches and piles of leaves will be left behind if sticks or branches are included in the piles of leaves.
The program is expected to complete by December, barring weather events or technical issues.
Yard waste dumpsters in 400 block of West Jackson Street are available until the first week of December, 2019.
