ARTICLE I - IN GENERAL

Sec. 2-1. Corporate seal.

The seal, circular in form, and heretofore provided and used by the city, with the inscription "City of Ottawa, Incorporated 1853," around the outer edge of the seal, and in the interior and center of the circle is the impression representing the Goddess of Liberty, holding in her left hand a staff upon which is a helmet, and her right hand hanging by her side resting on a shield, shall be and is established and declared to be the seal of the city. The seal shall be used in cases where it shall be required by the laws of the United States and the state and the ordinances of the city and in all cases in which by the law and custom it is necessary to use a seal. The seal shall be and remain in the custody of the city clerk.
