COMMISSIONER DALE BAXTER ANNOUNCES THAT THE CITY OF OTTAWA WILL BE OFFERING THE RESIDENTS OF OTTAWA ADDITIONAL DROP-OFF SITES FOR THE DISPOSAL OF YARD AND GARDEN WASTE FROM SUMMER CLEAN-UP PROJECTS.
THE FOLLOWING DROP-OFF SITES WILL BE OPEN FROM 8 A.M. TO 4 P.M.:
- SATURDAY, JULY 26 – SOUTHSIDE PARK (1/2 BLOCK EAST OF STATE STREET, BETWEEN CAMPBELL & GLOVER)
- SATURDAY, AUG. 30 – SOUTHSIDE PARK
- SATURDAY, SEPT. 27 – RIORDAN POOL PARKING LOT
WORKERS WILL ACCEPT LEAVES, EVERGREEN/BUSH TRIMMINGS, GRASS/GARDEN VEGETATION, SMALL TWIGS, BRANCHES AND TREE LIMBS CUT INTO MANAGEABLE SIZES IN CONTAINERS OR TIED BUNDLES. OTHER ITEMS (SUCH AS WOOD, LUMBER, OR GARBAGE) WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!
ALL WASTE MUST BE IN SOME TYPE OF CONTAINER & NOT TO EXCEED A TOTAL WEIGHT OF 50 LBS EACH. NO LOOSE LOADS WILL BE ACCEPTED. CONTAINERS, BAGS AND BOXES USED TO TRANSPORT THE YARD WASTE WILL BE RETURNED TO THE CUSTOMER. WORKERS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO ASSIST THOSE NEEDING HELP TO REMOVE ITEMS FROM THEIR VEHICLES.
THERE IS NO CHARGE TO OTTAWA RESIDENTS FOR THIS SERVICE.
EARLY DROP-OFFS PRIOR TO 8 A.M.
WILL NOT BE ALLOWED!!!!!

has
announced
a
change
of
office
location
for
the
City’s
Water
Bill
Cashier.
Starting
January
2,
the
cashier
will
begin
working
in
the
Water
Treatment
Plant
office
located
at
828
East
Norris
Drive
(the
northwest
corner
of
East
Norris
Drive
and
Champlain
Street).
Customers
wishing
to
pay
their
water
bills
at
that
location
will
enter
the
parking
lot
from
the
Champlain
Street
side
of
the
building.
Drop-off
boxes
at
City
Hall
and
in
the
Woodward
Parking
Lot
will
continue
to
be
available.
Water
customers
can
also
pay
their
bills
at
any
of
the
First
National
Bank
locations
or
have
them
paid
automatically
by
signing
up
for
the
“auto-pay”
direct
withdraw.
Although
City
Hall
will
no
longer
have
the
receipting
system
to
accept
any
cash
payments,
check
payments
can
still
be
dropped
off
there.
Those
paying
in
cash
will
need
to
use
the
East
Norris
Drive
facility.
Aussem
noted
that
the
new
location
is
handicapped
accessible
which
will
be
most
welcomed
by
those
who
have
difficulty
climbing
the
stairs
outside
City
Hall.
He
also
urged
customers
to
sign
up
for
the
automatic
withdrawal
so
there
will
be
no
need
to
drop
off
or
mail
payments. |
